About the Artist:
Johnna Bush has been painting portraits passionately
for almost twenty five years. Her subjects include men, women, children
and family pets. As a mother of two, Bush is especially fond of painting
children, often depicted pausing while pursuing a favorite activity. Bush
feels this is the best way that she can express those fleeting days of
childhood. Bush's understanding of color relationships and her Ability
to capture such an amazing likeness of her subjects characterize her painting
technique.
The elements of Bush's style of portraiture have evolved from her trove of experience. She has painted countless portraits of people from all walks of life. Bush pursued an interest in painting from her early years and has studied under several successful artists, as well as constantly reading on the subject. Largely self-taught, Bush emerges as a standout in a room of contemporary painters. Whether a Bush portrait emphasizes emotion or restraint, it is always a minutely detailed painting unerringly true to life.
